What is a Behavior Order?
This is an order from the judge that specifies that if a certain behavior does or does not occur then there will be a punishment. Typical examples are that parents are not to physically discipline a child, be around second hand smoke, be around a dangerous animal, etc. Behavior orders are different from protective orders in that the police would know about a behavior order and that the judge enforces the behavior order. For example, if one violated a TPO then the police might take that person to jail. If one violated a behavior order then the other parent would take that person back to court and tell the judge.
